Educational Trail - Theresiana
The route includes three kilometer long section of the old Austro-Hungarian road Teresiana which connects former regimental center Gospić with port Karlobag. Theresiana was built in 1786 on instructions of Emperor Joseph II, and was named after his mother, Empress Maria Theresa.
Visitors can enjoy the picturesque view of the Oštarijski plateau surrounded by rocks. Once they reach Oštarijska vrata they will enjoy a delightful view of the Adriatic Sea and the islands of Zadar and Kvarner archipelago. Following the trail the visitor comes to small green karst depressions with green rocks on the borders - this is the village of Konjsko. There you can encounter grazing sheeps and horses, owned by the few remaining locals.
